LINDSAY JASIONOWSKI | SLIDE

ARTIST STATEMENT: As human beings we study, analyze, and perform until we reach our desired outcome. It may take days, hours, or years. We engulf ourselves with our work, often times making it an obsession. Slide is an interactive piece that tests your patience. Be careful, your obsession may lead you in an infinite circle.

REACTION STATEMENT: This class forced me to step outside of my comfort zone. It taught me to think like an art director/ curator on top of having to be a designer. I never knew to what extent artists had to go through to produce a show. It takes a lot of patience, and it is very stressful. The deadlines weren’t always met but in the end everything came together. The time and dedication it took to produce this show forced me to slack on my other classes but it was well worth it!! I was lucky in the fact that I had prior knowledge of the materials used for my project. I was able to combine my background knowledge in construction and web design to produce my final piece. Slide was designed to test the patients of individual’s obsessions and I was proved right. Richie Peterson, a student at the university, stood in the gallery for two hours to solve this mind bending puzzle. This was a great learning experience and I will be able to take and use this knowledge in future endeavors. I would like to say thanks to all who came out to support us.
