ARTIST STATEMENT: Whether it is large or small, everyone shows signs of obsession. My artwork is about my obsession with myself. Many people today are concerned with their self image. Looking at ourselves in the mirror, or taking a photograph of ourself, emphasizes our self-indulgence. Any concern with our self image can be seen as reinforcing self-obsession. using video, I will show a series of self-portraits to express my obsession with myself.

REACTION STATEMENT: Working with my classmates to put on Idiosyncrasy show was a great new experience. Working as a team and creating a somewhat interactive piece of art brought me out of my comfort zone. Through our great teamwork, Idiosyncrasy turned out better than I imagined. Although everyone had a common theme, there was a wide range of diverse artwork. It was difficult for me to show my art because it is very personal. In making and setting up "selfdom" I worried a lot about what people will think about me. However, my artwork is meant to confront my concern about my self image. Therefore, I think "selfdom" was a success in expressing my self-obsession.
